Sight

I'm sorry to say you won't find any prominent acting or engaging action in this film, but what you will find is an ambitious and honest premise, based on a very relevant reflection of the future of our world as people begin to mingle more and more with the technology provided by the internet and computer-based softwares. We become so immersed in the virtual world that we forget to check behind all the closed doors, such doors that mask the dangerous numerous possibilities we have subjected ourselves to. We trust in the companies that provide for us and in the people we surround ourselves with, never believing that these entities could do anything to break or manipulate that trust. We are a society of misconceptions led by the power of our faith in delusions. The computer has taken over and isn't going anywhere, just morphing and evolving as we continue to praise its existence. I don't believe there is any time left to question whether or not this will happen to us; it already has. What remains is to ask where will it take us and if there will ever be a chance to reverse the effects.

Eye For An Eye

Apologies for the low quality. I have yet to find a better copy. Anyway, this film is an old favorite teeming with obvious social and political implications, some of the most prominent dealing with propaganda and imperialism. If you can't wrap your head around it I'll give you a little hint: society is actively poisoning your mind and manipulating you into thinking a certain way! But don't quote me; that's just what comes off in the video. Make you're own assertions. I'd say the music alone makes watching it worthwhile, and by the way, some of the quotes within the video are from The Thin Red Line. Should you decide to watch the movie, be prepared for a long, deeply philosophical journey that will probably leave you scratching your head and wishing you had watched Twilight instead. Just kidding. Should anyone want to discuss any of the topics in the above video feel free to comment. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

The Gloaming

"The Gloaming" truly blew me away the first time I watched it. Combining a spectacular visual feast with an intensive critique of the history and future of human society, the short is nothing less than impressively ambitious. The film is product of a trio of directors from Paris under the name NOBRAIN, whose talents meshed together to create something really unique. I was hoping we might get a conversation going about some of the salient topics within the film. Any thoughts?

Lucky Day Forever

This film presents an interesting, gritty take on a dystopian society with an artistic style that promotes some of its more obvious themes without ever having to state them outright. Like the video, I don't intend to outright state my opinion on the issues presented here but let me just suggest that the film offers a compelling critique of the potential dangers currently facing our society. We really aren't far off from suffering a similar consequence.

Everything is Incredible

It is often that words can degrade the true meaning of what feel, and in the aftermath of such you can be left only with the shell of an experience. This documentary certainly leaves that impression, as I doubt I could say much to the effect it has left on me. Truly beautiful and inspiring on an grand scale, "Everything is Incredible" should instill a sense that well... everything is incredible.

Grounded

Directed by Kevin Margo and Barrett Meeker, this short film is an eccentric little one. I'm still trying to figure it out, so I'll let you form your own assumptions.
